President's Message

What a summer of extremes we are having. I’m reminded of a baseball story, since this is the season for such. A well known shortstop who hit for average watched a towering home run hit by Yankees great Dave Kingman, measuring over 600 feet and commented, “I could have cut that into 5 or six singles”. So also our weather, either sweltering in the 90’s or shivering in the 60’s.

The date for our clubs annual “Gathering” was chosen for what is statistically one of the driest of the year, turned out chilly and drizzly. The club members, who came in good numbers, were undaunted. The site was excellent and fortunately had a large covered area. Special thanks to Bob Mott who arranged for use of the Picnic area at Griot’s Garage. Our Past President Tom Millar took charge of the grill with board member Tom Mackey at the second station, Charlotte Fellers gathered and made the extra food to go with the hamburgers. Thanks to them and all of the others who worked hard to make this such an enjoyable event.

Griots’ had a product demonstration for us. Those of you who are fans of historic race cars and missed the event will want to come and see the collection on display behind the product sales area.

Our club's next big event is the PSMC Fall Rallye on September 18th starting at 9:30 AM, at Coop’s Miata in Maple Valley. Tell all of your friends about the event which is open to all comers. It should be fun and a colorful drive.
